Grandfather Killed in TikTok Tragedy

A woman in Minnesota, 20-year-old Mariska Nunn, is accused of killing an 81-year-old man while driving because she was looking at TikTok.

Dean Chadbourne, the man who was killed, was walking on the side of the road when Nunn’s car hit him.

This happened on September 3, 2024, but Nunn wasn’t arrested until January 15th.

Police looked at her phone records and found that she was using TikTok just minutes before the crash.

Nunn was driving and told police she didn’t see Chadbourne. At first, she said her phone was in her lap, but later admitted she was watching TikTok videos. The crash happened around noon, and Chadbourne died 45 minutes later.

Her phone records show she was on TikTok multiple times between 12:08 pm and 12:14 pm. She called 911 at 12:15 pm.

Nunn was released from jail after being booked and fingerprinted and has a court date in February.

Chadbourne was a former teacher and business owner. He is survived by his sister, son, and grandson.
