Dominique Pélicot, a man convicted of drugging and repeatedly raping his wife, Gisèle Pélicot, and allowing other men to do the same for nearly ten years, is now being investigated for two more incidents from the 1990s.
These incidents involve the 1991 murder of a real estate agent, Sophie Narme, and the attempted rape of another real estate agent in 1999.
Dominique denies killing Narme and denies attempting to rape the other woman, though he admits he tried to undress her.
Dominique was recently found guilty of raping his wife and sentenced to 20 years in prison. This new investigation is separate from that case.
Regarding the older cases:
Sophie Narme’s Murder: Dominique’s lawyer says he had nothing to do with this.
* **Attempted Rape (1999):** The victim, known as Marion, had blood on her shoe that DNA linked to Dominique. His lawyer says he met the woman and tried to undress her but denies attempted rape.
Investigators are looking at these older cases because they see similarities. Both victims were real estate agents, and the way they were approached seems similar. There’s also a suggestion that the drug ether might have been involved in both cases.
Dominique’s lawyer reminds everyone that he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in these older cases.
His ex-wife, Gisèle, discovered the abuse after police found many photos and videos on Dominique’s computer in 2020. The abuse is believed to have started around 2011.
Dominique was convicted along with 50 other men who participated in the abuse of his wife.
